Betsy Houston
Pastor Charles and First Lady Betsy Houston were married in December 2004. They are blessed with two sons (Isaac, 14, and Malachi,11, he passed away 30 hours after birth) and a daughter (Izzy, 7). The Houstons have served in the role of Lead Pastors for the past 14 years, with the past 7.5 years being here at Ridgeville COG. In addition, this couple has been in ministry for 23 years serving in areas of Evangelism, College and Career, Youth leader, and Worship leader.

Pastor Charles is an 8-year veteran who served honorably in the United States Air Force. He holds an Associate’s degree in Communication from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral Studies from Lee University, and a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) with a concentration in Family and Marriage Counseling from the Church of God Pentecostal Theological Seminary. Desiring to be a medical doctor since his childhood, God had other plans when He called our pastor into the ministry. However, in May 2022, he received his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) with a Cognate in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. Passionate about helping others, he returned to the Pentecostal Theological Seminary to pursue a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MACMHC). Dr. Houston is expected to graduate in December of 2024.
First Lady Betsy was raised in the Church of God and has served as Youth Leader, Youth Sunday School Teacher, and Praise and worship Team member at her home church, Fountain of Life Church of God in Chester, South Carolina. She currently serves as the Worship Pastor at Ridgeville Church of God, in addition to her duties as pastor's wife, worship pastor, and leader of the women's ministry. First Lady Betsy is employed full-time at Dorchester County School District Two William Reeves Elementary School as the front office receptionist and head principal's secretary.

Women's Ministry is Betsy's passion. She desires to see each woman grow in her walk with the Lord and strengthen their connection with other women through fellowship, activities, and times of ministry. The Women's Ministry has been blessed to experience tremendous growth under First Lady Betsy's leadership. She was honored to serve on the South Carolina Church of God's Women's Discipleship Board for four years.

God has blessed this couple since receiving their call into ministry. The Houstons are the first to proclaim that every accomplishment reflects the God they serve. Our Heavenly Father guides their footsteps, and they believe He will continue to do so.

This couple and their beautiful family are excited about the journey God has laid out before them as they continue to seek His will for their lives and Ridgeville COG.
